Cooper's All Blacks Jersey (White Strip)

As I said previously, I had a bad week this week. Thank you to my daughter who managed to make all my cakes with me lying on the sofa yelling out directions and to my wonderful husband who got a crash course on rolling out large sheets of fondant and placing them on cakes. This cake didn't go to plan either. The customer (lovely lady) arrived - according to me - a day early (curse you Easter holidays). She wanted the cake for Good Friday but I am so used to cakes being picked up on Saturdays, I didn't register this. Thank goodness I had all the decorations ready to go and it was must a matter of placing them on the cake. The cake wasn't finished to how I wanted it, but Naomi was pleased all the same.

Alizaya's Soccer

Another take on the soccer cake. This time it was to be in the colours of the Chelsea Football Club with a CFC shirt draped over the ball and the birthday boy's name and age on the back. I also had to make a CFC shield which I did out of a combination of royal icing and fondant. Everything on this cake is edible, including the shield.

Steve's Golf

This is the second sports related cake I had to make this weekend. It's a bit of a tongue-in-cheek golf scene. I was happy with the results. The whole cake was my lovely banana, sour cream and cinnamon flavour.

Charles Bowls

I had a couple of sporty-type cakes to make this weekend. The first was this one commemorating Charles's 80th birthday.

Mario's Soccer

For anybody who knows the Barcelona Football Club, you MAY recognise who these characters are supposed to be, for the rest of us they are just a couple of players. Happy birthday Mario.

Shea's Soccer - $130

It only seems fitting that with NZ being in the grip of World Cup fever that I should post a soccer cake. Well here it is and what a beauty. Of course I could make this cake in any other sporting code by just changing the style of ball. The scarf and the little character can also be altered to team colours of your choice. A very smart looking cake and I am very pleased with the result.
